Gautam Buddha's Remains May Just Have Been Found In A 1000-Year-Old Casket In China

Gautam Buddha's Remains May Just Have Been Found In A 1000-Year-Old Casket In China

In China, archaeologists have discovered an ancient casket that could hold the remains of Gautam Buddha. The remains were discovered by teams of experts excavating the Nanjing area in 2010. However, the discovery was only recently published in English by the Chinese Cultural Relics journal.

Experts believe that a skull bone of the Buddha may have been found inside a model of a stupa concealed within a 1,000-year-old stone casket in the crypt of a Buddhist temple, reports LiveScience.

The box is made of sandalwood, gold, and silver. Inscriptions on the box suggest that two monks named Yunjiang and Zhiming, from the Manjusri Temple in the Longxing Monastery, had collected more than 2,000 pieces of the Buddha's cremated remains over a span of 20 years and buried them in the temple in 1013.

The findings published in the journal say that the stupa model was found in the crypt of the Grand Bao’en Temple. It measured nearly 4 feet by 1.5 feet.Other statues measuring over 6 feet tall were also discovered in the excavation but experts are unsure if these were buried at the same time as the Buddha's remains, reports Archaeology.

This Headless Robot Moves Like A Real Dog, And Is Everything That Fuels Your Worst Nightmares

This Headless Robot Moves Like A Real Dog, And Is Everything That Fuels Your Worst Nightmares

Boston Dynamics, a robot maker that’s been in the spotlight for the past few years, has just published a video to YouTube, capturing its latest and most advanced robot in action.

The mechanical creature was first unveiled by the company in June 2016. Boston Dynamics was owned by Alphabet at the time, before eventually being sold to Japan-based telecom/tech giant Soft Bank.

The Spot-Mini originally started out as a household robot looking more like deer than its current dog form. At the time, not only was it terrible at performing said chores, it was also prone to slipping on banana peels.
The new version has none of those issues. First off, it has a makeover to give it a much more polished look. The tall neck is gone, making it now resemble a weird metal dog hybrid. It even moves like a real dog too, as it trots around on four “paws”, albeit in a very showboating manner.
However, it’s that range and fluidity of movement that perfectly demonstrate just how much progress Boston Dynamics has made in the field, building animal-inspired robots that can be used in real-life situations.

The video says the SpotMini is “coming soon,” but it’s not yet clear whether that means the bot is just going to get an official reveal as a technological marvel, or is actually going up for sale as a commercial product. Either way, consider us both excited and incredibly creeped out.
And to be honest, we’re not sure whether to be impressed or horrified at how realistic it

5 Ways You Can Make And Mine Bitcoin Currency

Here are 5 different ways you can start earning yourself some Bitcoins.

1.Investing

Investing is the easiest way of accessing Bitcoins. This works in the same way as exchanges for other currencies — you go to an exchange (for “traditional” currencies you would go to a location that might do currency exchanges such as your bank; for Bitcoins you would visit a website such as Mt. Gox) and buy Bitcoins using the currency you possess.

I call this “investing” instead of exchanging because although the value of a Bitcoin fluctuates rather wildly, it is still showing an upward trend. This is partly due to the fact that more people are looking at Bitcoins as a legitimate currency, and partially because Bitcoins were designed for deflation as there are only a certain amount of Bitcoins that will ever exist. If you exchange Bitcoins now, they might be worth ten times as much in a week, month, or year from now. Then, you can exchange those Bitcoins for your traditional currency.

2.Sell Your Stuff!

A great way of earning Bitcoins is by selling some stuff you don’t need anymore on Bitcoin-friendly online markets. You could try listing an ad on Craigslist and set a condition that the buyer pay in Bitcoins. Then you can also sign up on a marketplace such as Coingig.com and sell your items there. The site works very much like eBay and gets you some Bitcoins for each successful sale.

3.Mining With Your GPU

Another way of earning Bitcoins is to mine them like the early pioneers of Bitcoin. Mining Bitcoins requires that you use a computer with a Bitcoin mining program on it. The program will then run complex calculations on your system, and reward you with a Bitcoin for each return value that meets the criteria for being considered a Bitcoin.

Since mining has occurred for quite a while now, the chances of winning big money this way is very slim — mining alone will take forever but could reward you with an entire Bitcoin, or you could mine as part of a mining pool, which shares found Bitcoins among the pool members based on how much work they’ve put into the pool.
Mining with PCs is best done with AMD graphics cards, as they are the ideal for performing the math done in Bitcoin mining. nVidia graphics cards suffer in comparison, and relying on just your CPU is unsuitable. If you put yourself on the miner’s line, choosing the best GPU for Bitcoin mining becomes a critical factor for the sheer number crunching that’s involved.

4.Mining With ASIC Cards

If you’re more serious about mining Bitcoins, there are ASIC cards that make Bitcoin mining far more efficient (in terms of electricity use), as they use less power and perform more calculations than the usual PCs. These machines aren’t very cheap though, but can be bought from various sources, including ButterflyLabs.

5.Mining On A Raspberry Pi

Lastly, if you’re more of a Bitcoin mining hobbyist rather than a first-timer or a professional, then you could buy yourself a cheap Raspberry Pi and use it for Bitcoin mining. You won’t get nearly the same performance as the specific machines mentioned above, but it’s still a fun thing to try out. And who knows — that ~$35 investment could turn into a $1,200+ Bitcoin.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many different ways in which you can get involved in the trending virtual currency. Bitcoin is here, and it doesn’t matter if you want to make money from it or if you want to use it as an actual means of payment. After reading up on the few disadvantages to Bitcoins, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t give Bitcoin a serious consideration.

How To Aware From Bitcoin Scam

Bitcoin Minner is real or not?

Every day it seems that more Bitcoin scams come to light. In this article we provide information on how we can identify bitcoin scams.
There are two main reasons people invest in digital currencies like Bitcoin:
first, it is used as a means of payment, and secondly, it is used as an alternative asset class.
We often have trouble using their credit cards at foreign online merchants. Due to a high fraud rate, most online shops outside We won’t even attempt to process a payment from a card. Bitcoin is an attractive option since Bitcoin payments aren’t prone to costly for businesses and it can’t be “blocked” based on the origin of the transaction.

The majority of Nigerians (as in our other markets) buy Bitcoin to use it as a store of value, an alternative asset class. Since Bitcoin is limited in supply and has a market value (in almost every country around the world), many people call it “digital gold”

It has aspects of gold (and aspects of money), but it’s just easier to buy, sell and store. Many emerging market currencies have been struggling against the US Dollar in recent years, so we’re seeing more investors placing a small amount of their investment portfolio into digital currencies, to hedge against depreciation.

2. Identifying Bitcoin Scams Bitcoin is attractive to scammers for the same reason it’s attractive to you: it’s fast, it’s international, and it’s irreversible. So as Bitcoin usage has grown, we have seen more and more Bitcoin scammers disappear with user funds. The following are some of the most persistent Bitcoin scams; Bitcoin Ponzi, HYIP or MLM schemes. These schemes attract people with low or no subscription fees and promises of sky-high returns on their deposits. They often rely on existing investors signing up new ones, which is the only source of revenue or growth. As with all Ponzi schemes, early investors get paid with the money from later investors. Inevitably when new investors stop signing up and depositing, the scheme collapses, since no more funds can be paid out. What to look out for These are some of the warning signs that you might be dealing with an illegal scheme:
Promises of very high returns/interest
Guarantees that you “can’t lose money”
Little verifiable information on company and owners
Difficulties in withdrawing your funds
Social signup links with high bonuses

Sense of urgency to “invest now” Bitcoin wallet and exchange scams There are some websites claiming to be wallets meant to store Bitcoin. Others claim to be exchanges, where one can trade Bitcoin. Others yet claim to do both, but many of these are in fact scam sites. They simply get users to sign up and deposit Bitcoin or local currency for a while to build trust and then after a while make off with the money.

However, here are some sites that are totally scams:

http://startminer.com/

http://btcminner.com/

If you are putting your money anywhere, it’s up to you to do your own research and investigation (Google and Reddit can take you far). And remember: if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

What is Bitcoin Mining

What is Bitcoin Mining

To form a distributed timestamp server as a peer-to-peer network, bitcoin uses a proof-of-work system. This work is often called bitcoin mining. The signature is discovered rather than provided by knowledge.[5] This process is energy intensive. Electricity can consume more than 90% of operating costs for miners. A data center in China, planned mostly for bitcoin mining, is expected to require up to 135 megawatts of power.

Requiring a proof of work to provide the signature for the blockchain was Satoshi Nakamoto's key innovation. The mining process involves identifying a block that, when hashed twice with SHA-256, yields a number smaller than the given difficulty target. While the average work required increases in inverse proportion to the difficulty target, a hash can always be verified by executing a single round of double SHA-256.
For the bitcoin timestamp network, a valid proof of work is found by incrementing a nonce until a value is found that gives the block's hash the required number of leading zero bits. Once the hashing has produced a valid result, the block cannot be changed without redoing the work. As later blocks are chained after it, the work to change the block would include redoing the work for each subsequent block.
Majority consensus in bitcoin is represented by the longest chain, which required the greatest amount of effort to produce. If a majority of computing power is controlled by honest nodes, the honest chain will grow fastest and outpace any competing chains. To modify a past block, an attacker would have to redo the proof-of-work of that block and all blocks after it and then surpass the work of the honest nodes. The probability of a slower attacker catching up diminishes exponentially as subsequent blocks are added.

Mining difficulty has increased significantly
To compensate for increasing hardware speed and varying interest in running nodes over time, the difficulty of finding a valid hash is adjusted roughly every two weeks. If blocks are generated too quickly, the difficulty increases and more hashes are required to make a block and to generate new bitcoins.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a new currency that was created in 2009 by an unknown person using the alias Satoshi Nakamoto. Transactions are made with no middle men – meaning, no banks! There are no transaction fees and no need to give your real name. More merchants are beginning to accept them: You can buy webhosting services, pizza or even manicures.

Acquiring Bitcoins

Buy on an Exchange
Several marketplaces called “bitcoin exchanges” allow people to buy or sell bitcoins using different currencies. Mt. Gox is the largest bitcoin exchange.

Why Bitcoins?

Bitcoins can be used to buy merchandise anonymously. In addition, international payments are easy and cheap because bitcoins are not tied to any country or subject to regulation. Small businesses may like them because there are no credit card fees. Some people just buy bitcoins as an investment, hoping that they’ll go up in value.

Anonymity

Though each bitcoin transaction is recorded in a public log, names of buyers and sellers are never revealed – only their wallet IDs. While that keeps bitcoin users’ transactions private, it also lets them buy or sell anything without easily tracing it back to them. That’s why it has become the currency of choice for people online buying drugs or other illicit activities.

Future in question

No one knows what will become of bitcoin. It is mostly unregulated, but that could change. Governments are concerned about taxation and their lack of control over the currency.
